Our Movie Genre/Subgenre List

We base our genre/subgenres on this list we found from horroronscreen.com

However, we expanded the subgenres a bit. This is mostly for Halloween-time when we do our Horror movie bracket so that we can ensure that we pick movies that are actually suited to go up against each other.

We also combined Gore with Killer as most of the gore movies are actually slashers and very few gore films are of interest to us anyway. We also collapsed the “Zombie” sub-genre above and instead allowed for differentiation in the movie villain field. We try to be as true to the movie as possible but in some cases (especially psychological films) it can be hard to choose a subgenre.
